Stidwill Releases Exercise Video for Recovering Breast Cancer Patients

A new exercise video for use by recovering breast cancer patients has been released by author Howard Stidwill, Ph.D.

Stidwell, author of I-CAN-ACT, an exercise book for recovering breast cancer patients, has published many articles on the subject of cancer and exercise for the American Cancer Society, Y-ME, and Coping Magazine.

The 20-minute video, set in a homelike environment, is a starting point for women who want to initiate a simple but effective rehabilitation program, upon approval by their doctor. Two 36-inch bands with soft handles, available in two strengths of resistance, are packaged with the video for use in performing the exercises on the video.

"The video seeks to improve strength and flexibility that is often lost due to breast cancer treatment," said Stidwill. "This, combined with inactivity, contributes to fatigue and a loss of control due to an inability to perform daily activities."

Stidwill has a doctorate in exercise science and has directed formal outpatient exercise programs for cancer patients for many years. He is currently the director of exercise therapy at Wellness House in Hinsdale, Illinois and teaches a graduate course on cancer and exercise.

The cost of the video and exercise bands is $34.95, plus $5.00 for shipping and handling. More information is available by calling 630-584-3021 or on the web at www.CAN-X.com.
