New Web Site Sends Reminders for Mammogram

A new free health test reminder Web site has been set up by the College of American Pathologists at www.MyHealthTestReminder.com to help battle breast cancer and other diseases by promoting early detection.

"Timing is critical when it comes to cancer -- the sooner it is detected, the better the chance a person has to get successful treatment," said Dr. Paula Szypko, a pathologist from High Point, N.C. "Even though consumers may know that early cancer detection saves lives, many say that they are 'too busy' or simply 'forget' to schedule their regular cancer screens."

In less than a minute, a person can log on to the site, register and choose when they want to receive a reminder for a mammogram or other test.

The site says it will send an automatic private email to the person on the date requested. People can also use the site to send personalized emails to family and friends, urging them to have a regular screening.
